Expert coaching tested in real life

About Fit to Create

Fit to Create brings together expert strength coaching and the real-world demands of self-employed life. James designs the programming. Kara lives it daily as a working entrepreneur. Together, we build strength that supports the work you care about.

Functional Training for Real Life

Our backstory

We’re siblings!

James is a certified strength coach with over a decade of experience in functional fitness and Division I athletics. He’s spent years coaching athletes and everyday adults to build strength that carries beyond the gym.

Kara is an adventure wedding photographer who knows the physical demands of self-employed creative work — long days, heavy gear, constant travel, and no margin for burnout.

In early 2024, Kara began training intentionally under James’s programming while running a business and raising a family. The results were clear: more strength, better recovery, greater capacity. She realized this wasn’t optional for people who work like she does — it was necessary. That’s where the idea for Fit to Create was born.

James leads the programming and coaching. Kara trains under it and leads the brand, content, and community.

Together, we help photographers, entrepreneurs, and other independent professionals build strength and mobility so their bodies support their work — not limit it.

Our Guiding Principles

Train in a way that makes long days and heavy gear feel easier, not harder.

01

Move with Purpose

Your body should support your life and work—not slow you down.

02

Train Smart

Structure and progression for real-life results.

03

Consistency beats perfection

Real lives aren’t predictable — fitness shouldn’t punish you for it.

Kara Ardron

Chief of Everything Else

Kara is an adventure wedding photographer, mom of two, and lifelong mover who understands the physical reality of building a business while raising a family. Between long wedding days, travel, editing marathons, and entrepreneurship, training isn’t something she waits to prioritize—it’s how she maintains strength, energy, and resilience year-round.

Before photography, Kara spent five years in public radio as a health reporter, where she developed a strong respect for evidence-based wellness and long-term health. Today, she brings that same practical, informed lens to fitness—training under James’s programming and helping shape Fit to Create so it works in real life, not just in ideal conditions.
